My Austin Favorites (there's lots to love!)

Parts and Labour: It's like a brick-and-mortar etsy.

The Salt Lick: Delicious BBQ, at a ranch just outside of town.

Pok-e-Jo's BBQ: Runner up for great meat and sides.

Black Swan Yoga: Best studio in town.

lululemon athletica: My one-stop shop for yoga essentials.

Jo's Coffee: My favorite, hipster neighborhood coffee joint... perfect lattes and great breakfast tacos.

Caffe Medici: I frequent the Clarksville / W. Lynn location.

The Continental Club: One of my favorite haunts for local music. Laid-back, friendly folks. Always a good show.

Inner Sun Chiropractic: Dr. Ron is the best chiropractor in Austin, hands down.

Bouldin Creek Coffeehouse: All vegetarian, all delicious. A little slice of Santa Cruz, CA in Texas.

Clive Bar: Great bar with a laid-back Texas ambiance. Also, best bathroom in downtown.

Lustre Pearl Bar: For the slightly more adventurous, visit this old house for beer, hula-hooping, ping-pong, and tacos.

    Lone Star Links

    • The Capitol
    • Zilker Park (my backyard)
    • Barton Springs Pool
    • Fredericksburg, TX
    • Gruene, TX

TX Must Reads (blogs and books)

Texas Tribune: A non-profit, non-partisan online politics magazine. Pretty bad ass.

First Reading: A daily what's-what in Texas politics from the Statesman.

The Austin Chronicle: the latest events, music, arts & culture, local politics...

In the Pink: A snarky blog on local, state, and national politics.

Straight from the Heart: My Life in Politics and Other Places (by Ann Richards)

Molly Ivins: the folksy Texan populist.
